Midjourney regularly releases new versions to improve performance, consistency, and quality. You can use different model versions using the –version or –v parameter, or use the /settings command and select the desired model version.
Each version has its own unique style, depending on the creator’s desired output. For example, V5 and V6 are better suited for realistic images. Other versions have different styles and characters.
To use different versions, you can call the Settings command to select the desired version by typing /setting. It will appear for you to choose as shown in the image.
Midjourney Model Version 6
has improved the accuracy of prompts for longer inputs, improved linking and knowledge, and the ability to render advanced images and remixes.

The Midjourney V5.2 model was released in June 2023. To use this model, add the parameter to the end of the prompt, or use the command and select 5️⃣ MJ Version 5.2 –v 5.2/settings
This model produces more detailed and sharp results with improved colors, contrast, and composition. It also has a slightly better understanding of prompts than previous models and responds more fully to the –stylize parameter.

Niji Version 6
The Niji model is a collaboration between Midjourney and Spellbrush that is fine-tuned to produce anime and illustration styles with a deeper knowledge of anime style and aesthetics. It is great for dynamic and action shots and character-focused compositions.
To use this model, add the parameter to the end of the prompt, or use the command and select Niji Version 6 –niji 6/settings
